Louisville Farm Show

About the best idea I saw at the farm show this year was the new front end loaders that, when removed, stand by
themselves on the bucket rolled all the way under. Do not need to mess with any stands. I also noticed that some very
old technology is still being manufactured new, such as a huge 40 ft wide spike tooth harrow that folds all up. Some
foreign company is making small disk plows, roll-over plows, and even offset disks.

about 30 years ago a neighbor had a 2 way disc -- it might have been around 20 ft or so -- it went as deep as you wanted to go or pull it -- left the corn stocks as black as a regular plow -- what goes around comes around -- 4 wheel drive and black smoke to pull that thing !!now its no till!

Went today. I don't know why westendorph was pushing that as new technology. Also they claim to be the Cadillac loader system when their quick tach sucks and there is no bar between them so if you unhook the bucket and roll the bucket cylinders at all they get out of sync and one can be way up and one down. Just kind of a rant by me but it's 2017 don't you think someone would be smart enough to weld a bar or pipe between to keep them in sync. Also every loader but there's is either skid steer or euro couple. You'd think they'd get with the program but in my opinion they have fallen way behind. Also my opinion obviously but the best looking thing down there was the driverless new holland with that dark blue paint scheme

I am like you guys, KUBOTA loaders are way ahead of what they were offering from Westendorph. Best looking thing there the case ih blondes. I have never seen a company stoop so low to get folks to stop and talk. Must have hired 6 or 8 pair of those young girls and they knew absolutely nothing about the equipment. I was impressed by the Landoll disk. I have owned some heavy disk but nothing like that disk. I think you could disk ground with fence post layin on it and never hurt the disk. That is if you had something to pull it with. Looked like all the off brand tractors were there even ZETOR..

I zipped thru it pretty fast yesterday, not interested in any new tractors, mower's a 2014 and baler is a 2012 so not looking to replace them anytime soon.
Mainly went to pickup another bale spear and check out the new hay tedders and rakes. Picked up a spear last year from a company called BBuilt for skid steer attach $375, I'm converting one of my tractor loaders to skid steer attach and needed another spear, still $375 and US made, local dealers want $550 plus. I've moved around a 1000 bales with the first one and had no problems so I think it's a pretty good product.
Guys from Your Next Tire had some good prices on tractor, implement and trailer tires. I nearly fell over when they priced me 18.4x30 radials for $700 each, I paid $1250 each for my last Michelin's.

the gals weren't there to educate you. They were there to get you to do the survey. They have very informative specialists walking around for questions on the equipment. We talked to the tillage specialist on Thursday for about a half hour and was impressed on his knowledge about the new field cultivator. Explained the why's and how's very thoroughly.
