I have been working on my 1963 Case 831C tractor this winter. The latest project on it was to build a more comfortable seat for it. I built this framework, weighing a bit less than 20# with armrests and higher back rests.
The problem is that the still original rubber torsion springs have lost their luster, and the seat suspension bottoms out when I plunk my 220# butt on the seat.
I am looking for some coil-over shocks, such as maybe found on a mini-bike or some such, that would offer me support with a ride height pin to pin of about 9".
Can anyone on here point me to a source for such a shock or gas cylinder???
