Hardvacing Chisel Plow Points

Where and how should haedfacing be applied to chisel plow points. I have applied on all areas on bucket teeth but with mostly on top

We used to hardface plow shares many years ago, but gave it up because it didn't appreciably increase the lifespan of the shares, and took a lot longer than installing new shares.

One way to look at that is your shares were the throw away type of share, now if you had the blacksmith sharpen type it would be entirely different. The hardfacing put on in the sharpening prossess would make them last 5 times or better as long as the share without it and the cost of that type of share was 5 times the cost of your throwaway type share. So it depends on what replacements would be avaible and cost of replacements. Hard to find expencive replacements against easy to find cheap replacements.
