Got the 1460 home

Now I can patiently wait until July to use it. 1981 model. Couldn't get the heads. The header carts were froze in the ground. They haven't been pulled out of the barn in a few years. Might have to wait until spring to get them. They are a good 4in into the dirt. Sorry about the couple of sideways pics. I seem to struggle with my phone.

Looks like a nice clean combine. The unloading auger looks to be the longer one which makes it a lot easier with the bean head on to reach the truck. I did'nt realize it had rear wheel assist when you first talked about getting it. Nice.

That is a very nice looking machine. You can tell that it was owned by someone that cares for their equipment. I have a few "tells" when I look at something like that and it really looks like someone went over it each year. You can tell it wasn't just spiffed up to sell. Little things like are the rear lights full of chaff, are the hose covers on the RWA (it wasn't backed into the brush at the end of the field to turn around), is the cab is tidy everywhere, not just where your body touches, etc. It's a good looking machine. A well cared for 30 year old machine will do a better job than an abused year old machine.

Are you guys messing with me? This is the view from my phone.

It does need some tinkering. It doesn't read the fan speed. One of the heater hoses needs replaced. Work lights don't turn on. Tailings elevator paddles are whipped. He said when it gets good and warm, the unload auger will swing really slow and you kind of have to help it along with the steering wheel. From what I've read, that seems like a valve problem common with these. I'll have to sick someone a little smarter than me on that problem.
