Antique Barb

I have some antique barbed wire. I am posting to ask for ideas on how to mount/display it. I was thinking about getting some old
wooden posts and trying to shape frames, but getting miters or any type of corner joinery to match up on old wood would be a
nightmare. What ever framing I use, I am thinking of a green back matte with the wire type written on small quality cards in
calligraphy and affixed to the back matte.

Other ideas?

The laser engraving looks nice but while trying to find price, I saw laser engraved name tags at $22 a pop. Given I have nearly 200 different types of wire labeling them all would be around $4400. Are the prices here way off?

Many high schools have laser engravers and could engrave 24"X12" as a project. Where are you located? Tech schools also have them. I have 3 in my lab. Jim

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a Middle and High School program that often has curriculum using laser engravers. Find the California PLTW rep and ask for a contact. Local School Districts also may connect. The Lasers used for wood are very different than those used for metal. (different frequency and power). Very effective. Jim

I made a picture frame with a print of the survey of my place noting the location the wire was found. Then cut four pieces and nailed them around the print.

Go to google images and enter "barbed wire display " for some ideas. As for labels, if you know someone who makes trophies they can print a little brass plaque. I had a plaque made for $1.50 but that was 25 years ago.
