How Much Ice Did Your Area Get?

We live here in Highland, IL which is 30 miles East of St. Louis Mo. We got just under a 1/4" of ice since yesterday. There's no wind now and temperature is 34?. My temperature transmitter is hanging on the eve of the house and reading that temp but I don't see any ice melting off the trees just yet.
Luckily our power never went off!

SW MO, 35 miles NE of Springfield, 3/4 inch or more, lost several branches, including a 6" one that came down on the front porch about 7:00 last night. Just what I needed, more projects.
No melting at this time

Ours is coming Monday through Tuesday next week. Thry talk of 6 inches of snow, and thry talk of rain and ice. I think we are too close to the edge to decide just yet.

Either way, they say our Monday through Tuesday should be miserable.

Up here in MN we sometimes joke about how we deal with winter snows compared to places south of us.

But that rainy ice junk is something terrible. In your locations it doesn't last more than a day usually, the stuff we get up here stays all winter. But still, that ice near freezing temps is terrible to deal with while its there.

Here at the Lake of the Ozarks MO we got more then a 1/4 inch but less then a 1/2 inch all depending on where you look. Sort of wish I still had a pair of golf cleats because to work out side you need them or you need to know how to ice skate

Hate to hear of those so much damage,, we have 1"-4" of solid ice here now but its on the ground and growing,, ground temps are so cold still when the Sun starts it melting it runs a bit and refreezes and just keeps building,, walking is a dangerous thing here right now hope you guys get yours gone soon

So far we have been lucky 100 miles south of Kansas City....Probably 1/8th inch of ice here so far but we could get 3/10th more before 10 AM Sunday morning...At that time it will warm up and it will be 60 on Monday..

Google Due North All Purpose Ice Studs
I got a pair back in 09 when we had our ice storm that lasted for almost two weeks, we where out of power for ten days.
They make walking on ice feel like your on dry ground, they go on over your boots and are easy to put on and take off.
Take them off when you come in the house, the carbide studs will eat up a hardwood floor.

Amazon has them.
