wiring up starter switch

I am trying to wire up two starter switches the engine has one on it and I am wanting to wire another one on the tractor (this engine runs the baler)that way it can be started from the engine or from the tractor thanks for any advice

What kind of starter is on the engine? If it has a bendix drive, all you need is a Ford-type solenoid switch in parallel with the one on the engine.

If it has a solenoid on the starter, it is even simpler. All you need is a small starter button wired from the battery to the start terminal on the solenoid.

Will this switch operate both the baler engine's ingnition(fuel cut off if diesel) and engage the starter? Or is it only to engage the starter if the engine stalls?

If you have a magneto ignition on the baler, the remote ignition switch must be replaced by a grounding switch or toggle and a ground wire from the bailer to the switch at the tractor, and from there to the grounding switch on the bailer. do not use the hitch as a ground, or the tractor battery for power. I hope these help. Jim

Thanks for the wiring diagram but is it okay to hook two wires to the same post on the solenoid and be able to crank it using one or the other switch? It is not a magneto it is a distributor ignition. Thanks
