Some BTO Getting a New Tractor

There must be a dozen new Fendts sitting at the new Agco dealer here. Nice tractor, but a pretty hefty price tag.

If a person ever drives a Fendt they would like them they are the caddy of tractors easy to drive smooth riding, and easy on fuel

Plenty being sold in Ohio lately too. One thing worries me is I think they are German. The GM catera was German what a disaster ! So was the JD 4425 combine it was nothing but problems too.

I have driven 2 different Fendts, I could see them being handy for hauling manure tankers or silage wagons, but for working up a pulling track they were miserable. Every time you touch a brake pedal to shorten the turn radius the darn things stop. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like using a touch screen to get the tractor to move. Also I am only 35 so it's not like I can't use computers. I will say I did like the 3-point with down pressure.

Those are good tractors and very popular in Europe their cabs ar far advance of ours same with the transmissions

Gene, I will certainly agree with you about how popular they are in Europe. My wife and I were in six different countries this past fall and they were the tractor of choice every where we were at.

A large hog outfit in these parts had four or five Fendts for their manure hauling operation but kept them only one year. Never did hear the story why they didn't continue with them.

I think the Catera issue was more GM than German. Germans make good cars- Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW are all brands that are known for good quality. VW has had issues, especially with the diesel emmision thing, but it is also the world's biggest automaker. And many of their owners are fanatics- my wife being one of them.

Similar story here. The original owners keep them about 2500 hours and then trade them for new ones. The problem is that after 2500 hours, they like most tractors start needing repairs. The problem repairing them is the labor bill is about double that of any other tractor. The reason is that everything is crammed in under the hood / cab and they require everything torn apart to get at the simplest items. Maintainability is terrible,
