I own a Kubota BX 1500 purchased new in 2005,same model year, with 15 HP,3 cylinder diesel engine,PS,4WD,3 point hitch,535 hours on working hourmeter, and 54 inch belly mower. What would an average dealer offer me for a trade in if I were going to purchase a $6000.00 tractor that is 3 years older but with a slightly increased HP engine and all of the same tractor items. The unit I am thinking of also has 1100 hours on hourmeter. Thanks for the input

Glmpa.... That is a hard one. First of all that was what we call a cheap BX when it came out in that most folks opted for the BX 2200 which was much more tractor for less than a thousand more. For that reason not many BX 1500 s were sold. Or at leas not at my dealership and I think abut the same ever where. In the years of the hundred BX series like the 1500 2200 ect I sold over 300 of the 2200 and less than 10 of the bx 1500. All that being said for someone that wants the small mower like the 54 in deck it will sell. I am thinking on trade dealer is going to say 4 thousand or so IF he wants it. Problem is most dealers are just not going to want a 1500 they were no a good seller. Auction it might go as low as 2500 to 3,000 or so.

Like any dealer purchase, the first step is to find out the cash price of the purchase with no trade (compare dealers prices). The second task is to understand the expectable sale price for your tractor. It might be higher than expected. Then decide if you want to do the deal. The dealer must be able to sell yours at a profit, and expects to make money on your new to you tractor. Jim

as you bought it in 2005, it may be a 2004 or earlier.. but....
tractor blue book says...
bx1500 2 cyl 36d variable trans pto hp 10.5 1213 lbs
retail new was $8085.
avg trade is $2910.
high trade is 3560.
avg sale is 4610.
High sale is $5340.

This blue book is a couple years out of date so the prices would go down maybe $430 per category if you look at each year older decrease in value in the book.

I did not look at blue book but as the other poster has posted looks like I was about right. I did not want to break the new to you but he did , the reason it is not accepted is it is a 2 cylinder motor not a 3 as you stated. Big old weight on the end of the motor but still has a lot of vibration.

And the blue book is an average nation wide, with computer interpretation.. that may or MAY NOT have any validity for the area you are in... Some models sell better than others pending on where your located. Your estimates were very good in my opinion.

Thanks for all the input gentlemen, and I stand corrected, It does have a 2 cylinder diesel engine. Since I have owned it I thought it was a 3 cylinder. I told the dealer it is a 3 cylinder diesel. I will have to correct that statement. I checked my operators manual.
