Real farm girls ??

I am temporarily in a place that has satellite TV. Hard to believe how many people pay for this trash. I miss our free from-the-antenna TV at our other place. So, for my first time - I'm seeing these "Farmers only dot com" dating commercials. I have to ask - what planet are these farm girls from? All great looking and in good shape. Farm guy is near always a fat load, often with no hair and a big hat. Not what I've been seeing in the farms I am around in the past 50 years. Beam me up, Scotty!

I'd say the girls are actually fairly average looking for farm girls and quite a few younger bachelors are fairly fit physically although neither gender is 100 percent like that. The obnoxious thing for me is that these girls are just waiting around for a farm guy for a date. All the girls I knew wanted to get away ASAP from farming after high school graduation and the fact that some farm kid's father was financially well set was not much of an enticement either. I tried a dating service connected to a well known farm magazine many many years ago and got no response. I really wondered if I was barking up the wrong tree as all these women wanted the cream of the crop financially versus "if we worked together we can build our own success." I hope for the sake of the people using Farmer's Only that they make out better than a generation ago with dating services. It did not help that I became a man during some of the worst times of the 1980's and there was very negative news making the national evening news concerning farming back then.

Oh common John; There were lots of girls that looked like that when you were on the hunt in the hill towns around Worcester. You on the otherhand, was quite the lady killer, in your mind. HeHe
Greetings from two ridges over. How are things going in Mi. Are you still generating power with PV where you are now.

There was no "on-line" anything when I was dating. Too late now for me. Been very happily married for a long time and plan on keeping it that way.

Only farm-girls I see around here that are in good shape are at the Amish farms. There is a "Nautical Queen" chosen here every year, as well as a "Potato Queen." The latter are local farm girls from potato farms and all are high-school age. Even they aren't quite in the shape of those "farmrers only" chicks.

Can't say one way or the other cuz I've been off the market for 20 years. I will say that there seems to be a good amount of young attractive women going to steam shows. I don't think that translates directly to farming though. Maybe I'm just gettin' old.

The girls in the picture are not that good looking in my mind and I could pick any one of them apart if the object is to judge them like livestock. I am not saying that is the right thing to do but if we are to judge based purely on looks.....................

You are right about not many farm girls around and that was true even when I was in school as there were by percentage mostly town girls. Nothing wrong with town girls but I went to school in a district where farming was not considered cool. Any farm kid that could line up a transfer to another district because their farm in part resided in that district did transfer. I really do not miss high school for that reason in part.

Yes, I still have solar. That being said, electricity is much cheaper here then it was in NY from the power company. Heck, everything is cheaper here except auto insurance. Michigan has the most expensive auto-insurance in the USA.

Weather here in the winter is pretty much the same as in central NY or the southern Adironacks. Oddly though - summers here are much nicer. Warmer and a lot more sunshine.

I never got to hunt for any girls in Worcester. I moved there in 1979 in married condition. I certainly did keep my eyes open though as a harmless spectator.

This area of northern Michigan was settled by New Yorkers. Otsego County here was named after Otsego County, New York. Our Otsego Lake is named after the one in Cooperstown. Even the Mackinac Bridge was built by New Yorkers.

How long before this thread gets canned? I think we are only supposed to notice how nice (or not so nice) tractors are - not the opposite gender.

In my little circle of acquaintances I know 4 younger guys who have dated through Farmers Only. One is in an LTR with a nice gal he met through there that helps on the farm, drives grain cart, etc.

There was no online dating for me while in college during the 1980's as online dating did not exist so I know the feeling. Like I said before I tried a dating service through a well known farm magazine and tried a couple of local services and they all felt like a waste of time. Perhaps I was too honest about myself versus spinning a tale about how many acres I owned, how much money I had, and that I looked like a Hollywood actor.

Just watched a music video on GAC by Luke Bryant called "WE rode in trucks" Clips of farm life and the party fire down by the creek. All those farm girls looked like the ones on FO.com. HeHe
Weird weather day here, 50F at noon with rain and wind.
John, do you still have the Case 310 dozer??

Wonder if any of the girls at FarmersOnly.com are as good as this farm girl.

Can't imagine any of them even having the skill of this real farm girl.

I'd be happy to pay $15 minimum wage to watch either one work.

So THAT is what a scythe is for!? Thought they just looked good wired to the wall. Wire it up there tight so you don't get tempted to try using it. Any girl that can run around barefoot in a fresh mowed grass hay field is tougher than I ever want to be.

There are exceptions a farm family I knew growing up had 5 girls and no sons they helped their dad in the hay field and doing anything around the farm. All were very good looking
with nice trim figures, but could lay a punch with any man and didn't take any bull off anyone. And if you crossed one you had to tangle with the whole bunch.

There is also singles in ag a fine bunch went on a few trips that way. The best part of there get togethers you dont have to explain the difference between a hiefer and a steer or that you dont really do that.
There used to be a good way to tell a farm girl they all had there wedding dresses made a little bigger at the shoulders to many small hay bales

They recently had a topic on Newagtalk about Farmers Only....I think that 7-8 on there had met their wives thru Farmers Only and they all seemed very happy..There were several very nice looking farm girls in my area back in the 1960's-70's..Several others weren't beauty queens in some peoples eyes but they were beautiful on the inside which in the long run is what counts....One married a farmer and he passed away before age 50..The others all married city guys..

A neighbor had a married daughter that was a school teacher and he tried and tried to set me up with her best friend that was a farmers daughter...She helped her Dad put up hay during the Summer....When I saw her picture I knew that she was out of my league.

We have several real farm girls in our family that are hard workers and not fat. Three of my Grand Daughters were hauling grain to the co-ops at 14 with a tractor and wagons and all three were hauling cattle at 16 with outfits like this. I sure don't know where you are looking as I see other farm families with daughters that can run the equipment as well as their brothers and are not over weight.

If it weren't for Nancy, not much would get done around the farm.

NY 986 : The farm magazine you are saying about ; would that be the Farm Journal , I remember the farm singles directory [listing of farm singles] both men & women ; I think it was published about 1983..

Darn! And here I thought that you could pick out the real farm girls as those with no teeth!???

Mr JDEM, Once again I read a post from you which ranks up there with your 1 hour tail gate pump repairs. yes, you are correct, From the area you are from MOST ladies from the farm are not lovely. We live in a very big country though so you have just looked in the wrong places. I was a lonely single man who spent all of his time fixing tractors or feeding cows. I went on FARMERSONLY when it was only a few weeks old. It did take some disappointments, but I did find a wife. She is 100% farm girl who is not only VERY attractive, but can and has milked hundreds of cows twice a day for months on end without a day off. She can cut, rake, and bale better than most guys I know. She does AI, castrate, and tag our cattle. Spread manure, and the list goes on. Yes, she is younger than me, but isn't that what most guys dream of. With her I was able to get 3 wonderful children of my own to pass this farm/business to. All this and she is still tall, and thin and a Very good looking woman. So before you run down farm girls, or FARMERSONLY you should do some fact checking. Maybe you settled for something second best, but I am very happy I finaly found a 100% USDA prime Midwest farm girl. GOD bless the farmer daughters out there. And GOD bless the parents who raised them to love farming. Al Baker

I hope every single male gets to find themselves a wife. I want em all to suffer like the rest of us married guys!

Depending on your source they say up to 50% of marriages are bound to fail. Now think about this. If you went to a sky diving school and they told you 1 out of 2 parachutes would fail would you do it? So why are guys lining up to give 1/2 their stuff away?

Friend of the family daughter met her husband on some dating sight. Worked out good so far. Got a couple of kids now.

Rick

Met my wife on Farmers Only. Been married for 6 years. We have two boys 4 and 2 years old. She was born and raised on a farm and works alongside me on our farm. A true farmers dream wife and she has the looks to be on those FO tv commercials too. BTW, I'm not a fat hair challenged load myself but I do wear a hat when working.

Fact checking?? Geez, chief. I think you need to lighten up a bit. And what is this distress on your part about 1 hour tailgate repairs? All I can say is - if you cannot do it, then don't do it. I did back when I was a field-mechanic for a Deere dealership and saved some customers a lot of money.

Seems you have some sort of chip on your shoulder. I was not making fun of "farm girls" or guys looking for them. Just the dichotomy as presented by the Farmers Only commercials portraying the girls as being in a lot better shape then the guys.
