When you post how cold/hot it is at your place.......

........please give an indication on roughly where you are, else the data is irrelevant.

Many people post that it's a certain temperature, but it does make a difference where you are. 40 degrees is a panic
in some states, and summer-like in others.

Thanx !

Most of us know where the posters live. You can check the YT member map and pinpoint their location and look into their back yard if you want.

I would panic if it hit 40. But here in MinnesOta it's likely to be March before that happens. Predicted to be -20 tomorrow night. Guess that's why we don't have climate change conferences here, or north of here for that matter.

Pete, It obvious where you live my your handle. Can you guess where I live, TH, In?

Kim can help anyone change your handle. That would make it easier for all don't you think?

How come when the weather man says it's 20 degrees in Sylacauga AL my thermometer says 10. When they say 90 I'm sitting on 100. Always way off. By the way it was 8 here Monday am. Calling for 65-70 tomorrow.

I disagree-I read this site religiously every day,and have a rough idea of only where a few of the posters live. That's the ones who post a lot,and talk about their places a lot.Going to the member map would take a lot of time vs. just saying where you live if you're posting about weather.Mark

If you are using the modern view for the forum the location of the poster can be seen under their name over on the left. Assuming they enter it. Mine always says S.E. Sask. I know that is a pretty big area but I don't want to make it too easy for the bad guys to find me. :)

But there are many members that are not on the map, probably the same ones that wear tinfoil hats! When I post the temperature I usually give my current location, that varies from AZ now to N MN in warmer weather.

I think MN has set record warmth recently, I was deer hunting in Nov. in a T-shirt! Remember that far back? And the weather forecasters predicted this, I remember that! It's still nothing like the old days!

Most of the "Talers" always indicate where they are located every day in the <a href="http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ttales&th=111758">weather report</a>.

Currently 77o here on the farm in NE Texas.

4 degrees F in wonderful southern MN.

Been fairly windy, that makes it tough. Out of the wind, it's not too cold until you get below 10 degrees or so.

That will feel quite warm in 24-36 hours from now tho!

Thank you for the suggestion! I have been saying the same thing for years on YT and other boards. Weather means nothing if you don't know where it is. Here in south-central MN, 20 degrees would have been kind of nice the past few days; if in central FL, not so much. (Supposed to be about 15 below in south-central MN Thursday night. Not as bad as the -26 right after Christmas.)

Another comment about the map, I don't see a way to search for a handle. There are not that many of us in N MN so it's pretty easy to find me but in some more densely populated areas it's a problem.
Something else we should fix is I put an icon in Apache Junction AZ for a tractor show they have in the spring, and it's not really identified right, if you click on the website it describes it well and that should be put on the icon. I have never been to it as we leave for home before then but Dick 2 has put a lot of nice pictures on here that he took there.

When in Central Missouri this afternoon our car showed from 73 to 76 degrees..Where we live 100 miles south of Kansas City it was 72..We will have an ice storm on Friday..

Which is how the Brits located the German subs and what code they were using that day.

Here in western R.I. yesterday it was sunny and 53 deg., today it is cloudy and 50. The 8 in. of snow we had Sat. night is gone as is the down to 0 deg. temps. That's how it goes here, if the weather comes up the coast it is warm, if it comes from the north or north west out of Canada it is cold. If we are on the west side of storms the swirl of the storm brings cold and snow down from the north, if we are on the west side it brings warm and rain up the coast from the south.

Here in SE Mississippi it is currently 59F and it is heading to 75F per the weather guessers.

It was around 10F this past weekend, the coldest it has been in years down in these parts.
