Wish I was in carl's situation...just decide to walk away. I love my job but also love my off time. Of course if I had his income for the last few years! Lol best of luck to him. Will miss watching him run nascar. I think he did the right thing. What yall think?

I Agree , IF He put Money Aside, go do something that You really like to do while young
The owners of his car will find another driver real fast
He did Nascar good and I wish Him the best of luck , in what ever He does

Carl Edwards is a class act and will be sorely missed as a competitor. He is intelligent and very well spoken. I also think he is smart enough to know there are other things out there in life......especially as you watch people such as Dale Jr. struggle with concussion issues at his young age.

It is also interesting to note that as Nascar struggles with attendance and loss of Sprint as a series sponsor and a bargain basement contract with Monster Energy......they are chomping at the bit to see Edwards replaced instantly with Mexican Daniel Suarez.....speaks to the rapidly changing demographics of our country......Nascar has failed in it's attempt to turn racing into football and now it will make one last attempt to turn it into soccer.

Few people realize that there is a time to walk away from most endeavors. Good for Carl!

Carl is a class act, even when things aren't going so well. The one thing I like is when the interview him he takes his sunglasses off and talks to the camera. Even when he does his in car interviews he pops his visor up. I like watching him race but don't blame him one bit, it will be fun to see where he shows up at.

I wonder how this affects Dale Jr? He is newly married and after missing so much of last year..... you know it's gotta be in the back of his mind. That guy can't just run out to Walmart for a carton of ice-cream with out folks freaking out over him. Gotta be tough not to have a normal private life. Go Carl go. I respect him even more now. Class act all the way.

In an interview last year, he said he gets teased about being a bit tight. He said his first year in NASCAR, he spent $8000 of his winnings and had the rest in his bank account.

Like the guy, will miss him, good for him to do what he wants and can.

In the interview said he helps with combining once in a while, family has a farm back home somewhere.

Why not quit when your health is good and you have a family one bad crash and you are in trouble the rest of your life i think he made a very smart move and wish him the best that is a very dangerous sport.

Very smart man. He woke up and it was clear to him. When that happens you can't get away from that fast enough. 1 good crash and it's over for those guys. It's not a question of if but when. I'd like to shake his hand and tell hime how smart he is. That sport is nothing but a dangerous chaotic media circus.
