Not quite a "yesterday's tractor"

But you wouldn't know it when the previous owner stored it outdoors under pine tree's for 30 years. Panels faded badly, all bolts rusted. Broke about half the bolts getting all the panels off so I could paint them. Skinned a few knuckles too.

Making a cab, couldn't have it with fresh paint and have the tractor looking like crap.

Well I figure if it's going to fade, I'd like it to fade together. Plus I'll be storing it inside, so hopefully it will last a bit longer.

3/4 x 1/8" angle iron and 1/16" diamond plate aluminum. Stainless would be expensive and heavy, was trying to keep the whole thing under 150lb.

Nice work.

I do not believe that the front R4 tires gear properly with the rear turf tires. I would check with a Kubota dealer to verify and change either fronts or rears to avoid long term damage to the front drive system.

On my list is to get another set of rims and do 4 R4 and 4 turf so I can swap them based on the season. With 4wd not engaged, it shouldn't have any negative effect though, the only time 4wd is engaged is when it's slippery out, which should absorb any rotational differences.

I have to find a kubota dealer around here though, and hope they're better than the deere dealers. Deere around here has a motto of "If it's not new, we can't help you."

We've been bumping this subject a bit lately and I was interesteed in it for the following reasons. I am waiting on a set of 33x12.5x16.5 Titan turfs to replace my 12x16.5 R4s on the rear of a 4wd 24 hp Branson tractor. Circumferences are almost identical. Turfs are not like law mower tires. The tread is 11/32 and traction couldn't possibly be worse than the R4 rears they will be replacing for what I do.

I plan on leaving R4s on the front for added traction and stiff sidewalls and they will have adequate pressure to support the FEL.

I only use 4wd when necessary and if I am using it I am in a situation where traction is limited such that any ill effects caused by differences in grip should be minimized. From reading of others breaking front axles and such and seeing how they wound up in a situation where they broke the axle using the "auxiliary propulsion system" as a main drive is understandable. We'll see how it works out. Will post.

What size rear tires/rims do you want? I have a Kubota L3400 parts tractor with VG R4 tires/rims on the back. $400 for the Pr mounted and up.

I'm not sure what size the bolt pattern is. I have a spare set of front rims but hte bolt pattern is different. It's also different from the B7200 my father has. Same number of bolts, but different spacing.

I'll talk to the wife about it and see what she says. Any idea what something like that would cost to ship? Do you have any photo's by chance?
