I have a Ford Lgt 165 that my father n law gave to me about 15 years ago, he bought brand new back in mid 80's. It is fully functionable and I still use it but want to upgrade to a zero turn. I am planning on posting it but I have no clue what to ask for it $$. What is a reasonable price to ask?

rshelton,

I Googled lgt165 and found, among other things, a Blue Book price list for that model of tractor. The Blue Book price for those things is very high. I don't know if they actually sell for that price or not, but you might want to look at the site.

They are really good garden tractors and are about bullet proof unfortunately they don't bring near what they really should these days.$500 will probably be about what it brings the older
LGT Fords with the open sides that copied the 8000 series big tractor will bring more.

I paid $ 100 for one at an auction this summer look about as good as that one. I have seen a few around here in southern Ohio for $ 500. The main draw back to that tractor is it has an older Kohler engine that the oil pan is part of the frame and the trans runs off the front of the crank, so changing to a different engine is going to be quite a task. I also have the Jacobsen version with three point hitch they are both great tractors. I would look hard at changing to a zero turn if you have many hills I don't think a zero turn is a upgrade. These tractors are beasts and worth way more than you will ever get out of them

Nice looking tractor! I just sold the one I had for $300 this last summer. It wasn't as spiffy, but did have a rebuilt engine. In reference to another post, the closed side models do not have the oil pan as part of the frame, the engine is Iso mounted in rubber. A little enginuity and any engine you want can be installed. Some folks have converted them to diesel and V twin gas.

I picked up a LGT 145 at a fall consignment auction a few years ago excellent condition other than needing new mower blades.
Gave $600 for it.

I have seen them in similar condition in spring and summer sales go for $1000 - $1500 if they are clean and turn key.
Needing work and weathered some don't bring $75 -$100.
