Phase 2 Front Grill Guard Case 831C

After finishing up the two post canopy, I started fabricating the front bumper/grill guard for my Case tractor which will haul the new wood trailer that I built earlier this winter.
Main frame of the nose guard is fabed from 6" channel. Today I formed one of the two radius bends in 2x2x.188 steal tubing to protect the nose of my tractor. I cut multiple cuts 1/2" apart in the 2" tubing to create the 90d bend. Welded in the all the joints to form a smooth radius bend. One more to go for the other side. The grill guard will bolt to the 6" channel main frame, and also to the cultivator frame within the nose of the tractor. The main frame also has a chain pocket with a 1" draw pin hole. The 1" ID pipe served as my gig to weld up the pocket straight.
Last two pics is of the grill guard that I fabed for my 430 that I am copying and a front view of my 831C that the guard is going to be installed on.

I like it. I do believe you sir are a craftsman and can build whatever is in your "minds eye". My old technical school teacher used to tell us to get a picture of the project in your minds eye and then make it happen. Some of the class could do it and some could not. I guess a minds eye is something a fella either has or doesn't and it is not a learned thing. I like to look at the projects that have come out of your shop. Thanks for sharing.

I am in my shop building things all winter. My welders probably account for a $15 buck/month rise during the winter months. Hard to say as we have many more lights on and the heating system is running 24/7.
The big expense in these projects is welding supplies.(Gas, Wire for the mig, Rod for the stick welder , and abrasives). Then there is the expense for paint, and mtg. hardware, when completed. I will have a fat hundred dollar bill invested in materials for this project when completed.

I like the way you did that bend, lots of cutting, welding and grinding - 24 cuts x 2 wow. LOOKS GOOD AS USUAL Loren.---Tee
