Just passed thru SW Iowa yesterday p.m. and wondered if any YT'ers are in that area. Would like to hear from you. Son and I made a trip up to Battle Creek area.

I live in Larrabee, 6 mi north of Cherokee. We have a family reunion each year at Crawford Creek park just south of Battle Creek.

Maybe 10 miles to Missouri as the crow flies, and about 50 miles to Nebraska.

Rusty, are you in the Shenandoah area? We went thru there on 59 highway. Went on down to Tarkio, MO and then west across the river to 75 highway, as our next destination was Topeka, KS. First time I had crossed the Missouri on that big iron bridge.

We were not too far from you. When we left the farm north of battle creek, we traveled east on a gravel road to highway 59 at Ida Grove and then headed south. Saw lots of country that isn't like anything we have in central Kansas. Can't believe the steep hills that are farmed but looked like they had a good corn crop; lots of new steel bins on the farms. Even saw picked corn in some cribs at one farm. Not too common anymore, is it?

gmccool, I'll try to remember that if I ever travel to/thru Minden again. Been quite a few years since I've been there, even though it isn't all that far from us.

We are about 3o minutes west of Shenandoah, in the Loess Hills. So in our area, its a lot about hills and terraces and a lot different than the parts of central Kansas that I have worked on commercial grain elevators in. Thank you for the post, maybe next time! Mel

East of highway 71. North of 2.
