I'm thinking about getting another pair of bibs and maybe a coat to wear when I'm at work I have a pair of Berne bibs I just got about a month ago and have been happy with them but wanted some options on whether I should get another pair of Berne or what brand I should get? What have you guys been happy with?

Been stuck on Key for most of my life. :)

Carhartt X06 extreme.
Nothing better that I have found.
I wear the coverall version but I believe you can get the pants and jacket in the same line.
Minus 40 and all I wear underneath is a t-shirt, have not put on long johns in 5 years.
Tough, durable, windproof and strong zippers.
Weigh about 6 lbs.

Carhartt for me. I always have two pair of bibs that way one is dry, last 4-5 yr. with daily use in cold weather. Seems like a Carhartt coat will last forever . Stay warm!!!

Duluth for me. The knees have a special pocket built in so you can slide knee pads in there. Best knee pads in my opinion. I've yet to ripe the firehose material.

I like to layer clothes so as the day warms up I can remove a layer at a time. Long Johns are nice, but lately I discovered wearing flannel PJ's is warmer than long johns.

I have a pair of old mill insulated bibs with zipper down each leg and an old mill Jacket with hoodie.

Back in my younger days I rode a Goldwing in the winter as long as there was no ice or snow. I picked up a pair of Artic coveralls. Weigh about 10 pounds. Nice to wear is you are pushing snow with a tractor and no cab. I definitely wouldn't want to try to work in them. No need to worry about falling and getting hurt, too much insulation.

I also like to wear 10 inch boots with removable liners.

I got a pair in 2006 from my grandfathers home when he passed away, brand new made by berco I think they are, there out in my truck right now so I can't look, but there were made in USA and iv been wearing them every winter since 2008, I have had Carhartt and walls coveralls also, don't know we're there made these days.

Carheart, Dickey, or Duluth are fine. I like a full suit to avoid a gap in the middle when bent over, or stretching. US military Mickey Mouse Boots are a MUST. I like Wells Lamont gloves but a pair of jersey gloves inside Norwegian reindeer leather mittens. (Surplus) Jim

I also recommend Carhartt. Tried buying cheaper brands for work, just to get greasy and throw away, always had problems with the zippers. I would have been money ahead just buying Charhartt, plus I think they are warmer too.

I'll go along with Carheart, Dickies, Duluth, etc.. However, if you want a high quality pair of work bibs, buy a pair of Filson tin cloth bibs. http://www.filson.com/men/pants/oil-finish-double-tin-bibs.html. All I buy is Filson bibs. They quit putting zippers in the pant legs of the bibs (Big Mistake). This year, I took my brand new Filson bibs to an Amish woman. She put zippers in the legs.

I wear Key insulated coveralls for snowblowing. I also have Carhartt insulated jacket and Berne insulated camo bibs along with Dickies insulated vest.

This won't answer your question but I have an old video of an Eskimo family. Starts with the man paddling the kayak up to shore, he climbs out, then his wife appears from inside followed by a couple of kids. They proceed to build a small igloo from the local ice and snow. When they get inside they remove their seal/walrus(?) skin top and they aren't wearing any undergarments. Just the skin with the fur turned inside is enough to keep them warm apparently. I'm not that tough, I prefer layers.

Bought 3 surplus Swedish Army winter coats, $25.00 each. Warmer than the Carhartt type coats I've had, wear better and come down to mid thigh. 3 pair of used Woolrich Malone pants bought off Ebay for between $7 and 15.00. Warm, much easier to move in than bibs, fit over my jeans if I want. If it's real windy or a filthy job I put chainsaw chaps over them. Total outlay about half of what a new Carhartt coat costs.

Have been wearing Bernie Bibs and Coat for years. No issues. The bibs are starting to show some wear. When I replace them I will look for Bernie again but not sure where to get them anymore so will probably end up with Carhart if I can't get Bernie's

I bought a pair of Key brown duck bibs off ebay some years back. They are of course heavier than any denim. Took some getting used to, until I washed them.Six or seven washings and they are good spring and fall wear. Have extra layer at the knee. Now that is all I will wear in the winter, and my primary upland bird hunting wear. I've never seen a pair in any store but you can find them online. They are 90% as good as carhart and 50% the price.
I also wash new overalls, then take to tailor who sews knee patches on the inside of each knee. Have tossed too many because the knees were totally gone but the rest was good. Seems like when you are doing anything with a tractor you are on yours knees a lot. LOL
