Anyone know how If Auctioneers use a sliding scale or stop on the commission for high dollar equipment, for example, someone wants to sell a combine that will bring 250K, surely the normal 10% does not apply, or does it?

When I had my retirement sale I was charged 10% plus labor for his men, advertising and port a potties. Sale lasted from about 9:30AM-4:00PM with 3 auctioneers working most of the time.

I think the deal depends on the size/type of auction and equipment.
You could contact these guys by email; someone will give you an answer.

I think RBA charges the seller a fee, and also the buyer.

Around this area, it varies by the auction company and type of sale. Some use a flat rate and some use a sliding scale, with the rates going down as the value level goes up. Sometimes, the same company will use different rates for an estate sale vs a consignment sale. Check with a few different companies.
