Cleaning off silicone sealer

I think I know the answer, but I was sealing up an outdoor electrical box with silicone sealer (RTV clear, I think), and as usual, I got more on my hands than I did on the project. Is there anything that will clean that stuff off your hands, or do you just have let it wear off?

Some types will loosen up with strong vinegar and another way is brake or carb cleaner. That stuff needs moisture, humidity, to cure.

Most of the silicone stuff I have used over the years will wash right off with gas. So I soak a rag with some gas then clean my hands of it that way

Denatured alcohol will remove silicone when its still wet. I carry a can of it in my truck . Never used it on silicone sealer, just silicone. Try it and let me know if it works for you. .

I wipe off all I can, then let it wear off.It does not take long if you're working with your hands. If I think of it ahead of time,I will wear disposable latex gloves.Mark

Denatured alcohol or acetone will take it off, but will dry out your skin, Use a good hand cream afterwards.

Lacquer thinner. Soak a rag and clean it off your hands with the wet rag. You might want to get hold of some hand lotion afterward.

It will shed in a day or two as your skin renews itself, but for less stress next time, wear some hand shoes made of of rubber or vinyl.
