I made many of these and sold them. I cut a slot in the top and a hole in the bottom then inserted a plastic removable plug and made coin banks out of them. I never kept a one but did keep some extra brass angle that I used plus I kept the jigs I made that I used to assemble them. When my MIL moved off their farm into assisted living a year ago she handed this to me and said it was mine. She didn't have any money in it though LOL.. Just wanted to share this with all of you that can relate to the ole fuel tanks on a stand. FS stands for "Farm Service" here in Illinois. The fork in the picture is just to relate the size.

Wow, nice job!!!! I still have a 300 gallon fs tower tank for gasoline, but my tank is painted white. If you had two mini farmall m rear wheel weights on the lower rack for ballast, it would be the spittin image of mine.

Nice unit!

My uncle made one for me for my toy tractors when I was just a little guy. Not near as fancy as that one though. He used an orange juice concentrate can if I remember right. The legs were made out of wire.

Just curious why does the tank stand need ballast? Or is it to pull up the hose or such?

Very nice. I remember those tanks from when I was a kid. Our local supplier took all the elevated tank out after one of their drivers had a bad fall while filling one. I was a kid but remember an uncle saying the driver slipped and fell with a leg on either side of the side bracing.

(quoted from post at 10:30:05 12/03/16) Patently illegal. No secondary containment, or protection bollards. :)

only if above 1000 gallons here... not required on smaller tanks.

Thought I replied last night to the thread, but don't see it today.

Nice work, neat toy! Very nicely done.

I have 2 of the life size ones in use. You need containment and all of you are over 1320 gallons total storage these days.

I know, as stated not REQUIRED for small tanks. I guess I need some more sm*** *ss lessons from my wife, still not good at it.
