I hate moveing

Like I said last month I hate to move. Well this is my second month on moving and man I tell you I got every body in my family mad at me. Well here it goes in my eyes I am single never married and when I had dated in the past the girls always took what they wanted then left me. My older Brother and older sister tells me to move furniture and other house things. All I need out of my house is the ref. washing machine, and my bed. The rest of the stuff can go. All I care to have is my tow classic cars and my five classic farm tractors. Every thing eles can be replace when I get that move done. I forgot to say I got six more trips to do on this move that is 280 miles one way. Boy I guess I am crazy but man I like those farmers around my new/ used house there just what I needed.Brent

The people in this house has not moved yet but told me that I can put my tractors in the back near the house. Yes I am moving to Benton off of hwy.6 just before you get in to town.

Are you going to leave your mess for your landlord to deal with? Or will you do the right thing and clean it up?

We've had 20+ tenants move out of our various rentals over the past twenty years, and I can't recall a single time we didn't end up renting a dumpster to clean up the crap they left behind.

Well you must be making good money at it. I doubt yer putting up with that cause out of the kindness of your heart yer compelled to provide housing for mankind.........just saying......

If I remember right you said your current place is being taken over by a university. I am assuming they are not going to be in the house rental business. Take what you want/need don't worry about the rest.

I moved 8 years ago 1800 mi one way. 3 loads with the pickup/gooseneck, and 2 semi loads so far. I still have 1 semi load at Mom's and a couple things there to sell yet. All the stuff that I didn't want, and had no significant collector value, I gave my BIL scrap rights. Whatever he sold or hauled was his to keep - I just didn't want to deal with it. No point hauling things you don't need.

The previous owner of the new place also left me a couple $1000 in scrap iron, and a whole bunch of other junk. But I don't think a lady in the nursing home was going to do much about it.

A little late this time, but if you ever have it happen again, put a clause in that says they hire a moving company and they move you. Then you can still select what you want to keep, but don't have to lift a finger to move it. The service packs you too. Every plate is wrapped, glasses wrapped etc. Much easier.

I think for what my sister paid to have movers bring her stuff back to Ohio from New York cost as much as the stuff would of cost to replace ! I told her to sell it all off and start over with new !

If moving is getting you down, consider hiring a semi that can move most or all the tractors and equipment in one or two loads. For household items and tools, do your own packing into boxes, then hire a mover to load the boxes into your rental truck. There are a lot of small movers with an owner that knows what he's doing and two or three other strong backs that follow his directions. They can get a lot of hard work done in a short time. At your destination, hire another mover to unload the truck, and then you should do your own unpacking.

Check your sales contract on what condition the property must be in when they take possession. Individual buyers often require no trash and buildings broom clean. At closing the sale may be delayed until things are cleaned up, or a cleanup fee may be deducted from the sale price. The university may or may not be more tolerant. Worst case hire a "Got Junk" type of cleanup company.

No, we don't. But some of our tenants seem to think we do.
