Will the leaves were mostly down , now the clean up ... I rake some but being older I thought there HAS to be another way ...
So I got the mower out w/the bagger ... didn't go to far and the hopper was full .... thinking all the time I came up with another idea ..
Took a few bugs out of it and it worked great .. just don't make sharp turns ..he-he

I rake the leaves down from the steeper part and they were a good 12 inches thick , just went slow and it worked great .. got 2 wagons load .. sure beats the rake .. the wagon measures 42 wide 72 long to the top of the cover 48
Anyway that's how I got most the leaves on the compost pile ..

Just thought I would share .................. mark

I have often wanted a Trac Vac, only to make compost. I figure that besides the yard, I can harvest some trails through the woods. Shredded leaves are great in the garden.

It's a 50 inch deck with a 18 kolher .. it's new enough it direct hyd drive ... I also have a 62 deck with hyd over chain drive ... It was giving me problems when it got hot { hyd wasn't working one one side } so the dealer had this one as a demo w/a catcher ... so I got it { it's a few years old } .. I really like the direct drive ...

also the mower out front I like , it gets under trees real nice

Very nice cobbled rig. Love the little wagon and over the shoulder pipeline. I have a full blow Agri-Fab leaf machine with the wand hose accessory. Love it. Nice thing you can go around my place 1/2 of a round and the bags were full. With the big vacuum it is about three rounds before the trailer is full. I normally run sand blades on my decks cause the sandy soil here rips the decks to pieces. With a vacuum you want SuperDupper shredder blades. This way you get really shredded leaves and you can get one heck of a load. I had to replace my hose attachment collar a couple of weeks ago cause the blower really does not like a hunk of old rotten log. POw!! Was 43 dollars of plastic adapter. Nothing like a nice manicured lawn!

I built something like that, I took a 3 hp lawn mower engine and made a blower out of it, mounted it on the front of a trailer with a screen top. I had a 6 inch suction pipe connected to the mower deck on the tow tractor. It worked OK but was kind of big to get around our yard. When we bought the next tractor with a bagger on it I sold it. The new tractor with a bagger was more compatible with the wife, and she does most of the yard work.

Old silo blower pipe???? Looks good to me. I hate leaves. I love shade so I have to vac leaves all fall.

I too composted 14 loafs of leafs, 3 large dump trailer loads of horse poo and sawdust, one truck load of wood chips and one load of last years compost which has excessive nitrogen needed to speed up composting.

Plan to incorporate some of the compost in garden next spring.

The pipe is the flex tube that is used with the catcher ... just had to used two of them.. had to use a tube around the outside and duct tape
put a bungle cords on the end so around a small corner it was still blowing in the wagon .. the wagon has a cable type hoist .. with a crank I get it raise and comes out . the back opens all the way ..

What are sand blades?? I've never heard of them. My yard is sandy and it's hard on the decks. The dirt and grass mix sticks to the underside of the decks and I have to clean them out everytime I mow. I have been using JD Gator blades but you have my curiosity in high gear. Chris

Here is the general idea. They are almost dossial mowing blades. They have no lift or very little lift. They will throw the grass but with only a little discharge. The grass under the deck actually stays flat in one plain as it exits the deck. You get very little build up in the corners and virtually no wear of the deck. If you want to use a bagger or you mulch stuff then you need a very aggressive blade with big paddles at the ends. I have ONE set of "Hi-Lift" blades that I use with the trac-vac so everything sucks like crazy. Hardly ever plugs even with tons of leaves going up the hose. If you want to just open mow then get a set of these. Clean your deck nice and spiffy first and don't mow wet grass. When you are done I bet your deck will be almost spotless.

I've got a Woods mown'n machine like that- 48 inch deck really works well with the vacuum. I bought a used hard-side box to replace the fabric bags to catch the grass. It has been a good mower for almost 20 years.

I just bought a Lawn Genie Pickup mower- a pulled, PTO driven flail mower with a collection box, designed for golf courses or estate lawns. I hope to collect green chop from the spaces between our grape rows to feed cows in the Summer. Pastures are usually dried up, but that cover crop grass between the rows still needs to be cut every couple of weeks!

Mark, I will be sending an order to you for some Case calendars. Jonh and Chris dropped off a couple of the ones that you make for them, but I want to send some to other friends.
In case you YTers don't know, Mark and his wife Linda have been producing great calenders dedicated to CASE for several years now. All the pics are from Case enthusiests on YT.
Here is ordering info.
