CIH Farmall 100C vs JD 5100E

Was wondering if anyone had any experience with either one. Was looking at the red as we've always had red but the JD dealer gave me a test run of their model similar to the red. He also matched the price on red with our trade in value. We are trying to decide, one key factor being a really good JD dealer 10 miles away vs good CIH 50 miles away. Any input helps. Thanks!

Ten miles vs 50 miles seems like a no brainer.
Are the warranties equivalent?
Can the CIH dealer be good enough to beat the distance?

I would recommend doing a google search for problems with the 5e series JD tractors. When I was looking at them I heard they were having several problems at that time. Maybe they've got those problems figured out by now. I'm not speaking from personal experience just what I have read.

First off I think both are good tractors. Checking the (build your own) on both companies websites, I found the 5100E to be around $8000 or so cheaper to buy than the 100C. I thought the 5000M series would be more comparable to the Farmall C series in price. Which one do you like most would be a major consideration.

I've drove them both and they are set up identical. The only difference is the green has a high low tranny for a 24/12 transmission vs the 12/12 in the case. The Deere guy so far has matched the IH price
