Make sure your hyperlink contains the whole address. I can get to it by cutting and pasting from the entire address you listed, but I don't think that you got all of that address into the Link URL...

Very interesting ads!!

that's pretty neat
I was born in Nov 1958
so I saved the link and I'm going to read the mag for my birthday present to me

It's always nice to have a connection to your own past
thanks

Thanks for sharing. I found the overall reading pretty interesting. Page 112 the history of how the fire ant was imported here. Thanks for sharing. Was fun to read through overall.

Thanks for sharing - Remember a lot of those ads even tho I am a "youngster"!

PS: Graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering on page 43 in 1976 but not in the electronics field - Never could figure out that proton/electron/neutron stuff!

Back when they were a quality magazine.
They started getting editors from Men's Health after they canned the editor that oversaw the article about what went right in New Orleans late in 2005. Really went to pot in a hurry.

On page 14 of the magazine is an ad for a Sherman Power Digger. The picture shows it mounted on a Ford tractor.

I was 24, still in the Air Force at t Chanute AFB, got married (1st time) in December. New wife and I got an apartment at 119 1/2 Sangamon St. in Rantoul. I always liked Mechanix Illustrated better than Popular Mechanics. Hey, first Playboys came out that year didn't they?

I graduated from Collinsville High School near St. Louis in 1982. I won a scholarship to Bailey through VICA competition. I turned it down and attended SIU instead but I do recall their rep coming to our home and meeting with my dad and I. My dad was the first in his family to go to college and wanted to make sure his oldest son didn't break the trend I guess!

Those old magazines are fun to look back on. I was lucky to pick up a box full of Popular Science, Mechanix, Mechanix Illustrated
at an auction sale years ago. Great bit of history there.
