Gettin ready for combining corn

Got most everything ready for combining corn today, just need one filler piece for above the feederhouse. Put in new brakes, welded on a bracket for weights, fixed the snoot I drove over when it tipped down earlier, (hence the weight bracket), then just adjusted everything and it should be ready.

Good luck in the corn Jon, that's a good looking combine you have there. We're only about a quarter or a third done with our soys here in MI. It just won't stop raining long enough to dry out the ground, beans, stalks enough to run a full day. They haven't been drying out until the afternoon when it hasn't rained. We checked the corn in a few fields and it's at 17%, so it's close, but have standing water in many of the fields. We got 3/4 of an inch of rain last week, and 3/4 of an inch this morning. Some fields we will just have to do what we can do, and come back and get the rest when they are either dry or frozen.

Lots of mud here too! Lot of beans coming out, but there are ruts all over. Going to be a mess trying to get those closed up.

You got lucky lol! Dad picked up a rock in the dark and broke 8 spikes out of the cylinder, and that wasn't great, but could still run. Until he got a small pebble stuck in the slip clutch for something, header maybe? Anyway, it was getting late and we were fully loaded to haul the next day, so he gave it up a little early
