Anyone know what is at the steering wheel of the one JD A ? Looks sort of like an add on power steering unit but I don't see hoses ?

Might be one of those "Kosch" steering aids.

I have a 1957 model Gleaner A combine with the 237 CI Hercules flat head 6..I got mine near
Goessel,KS on ebay for $103..

Granted these tractors are a little rough but it really shows where the pre 1960 tractor market is at. It seems the supply far exceeds the demand. I always chuckle when I see a farmall M or John deere A for sale above $2,000. Not going to happen unless you have a time machine! Lol. I wonder if it will ever come back? My thinking is no, there will never be enough interest in them to ever increase the value again.

Really as the financial folks say there was a 'Bubble' with old tractors for awhile, that burst and now things are back to reality.Unrestored and none running older tractors have really
taken a hit because a restored one can be bought for a lot less than it costs to restore one.

I agree but I do think in the future the only tractors that will hold there value will be the unmolested originals. If you took two B John deeres, one "restored" and one original. Put them on the same auction the original will bring more. Go to any show and yawn through the sea of green and red paint. When you come across a nice survivor it really stands out!

1260SWMO,

Just found these pics - they're fabulous!!

Sure would have loved attending that auction; just for the pics, watching stuff sell... and maybe a BBQ or brat for lunch if they had 'em. :)

I think things sold at pretty reasonable prices.
