New Idea Super Sheller

I have been scouring craigs list for a while looking for either a whole picker/sheller or a sheller unit for the picker
I have. I figured harvest season would be the time to find one but I havent had any luck. Im in eastern KY and have
been searching a 400mi radius. Are these things that rare or do I need to move my search to the mid west? If you guys
could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

They were not rare in the day. My dad had 3 of them at one time or another. Finding one that hasn't been junked however, is another story.

I have a New Idea sheller I might let go. I don't know if its a super sheller though. How can I tell? I am in eastern middle Tn. I haven't used it for a while but it is inside. It worked good when I used it and hasnt been used much.

I have a two row picker/grinder. It picks the corn and then grinds it into cob meal. I used to use it to feed corn to my beef herd and they really liked the meal. I do not use it anymore but it would be good for a person raising livestock.

Try murn tire and tool in Dodgeville wi . They are across the road from Hennessey motor's they have an auction twice a month and haul equipment over the United States. So hauling is available I can try and get more information if you need it.

An Amish friend of my neighbor was looking for a 300 Deere. The ones I found mostly were around the MN, WI, IL, and IA borders.

I saw on on craigslist , lake of the Ozarks section I believe, Camdenton , mo. it was a 30" . 2 row , but you can take off the sheller if you have a wide row base.

Hennessey's auction is every other month & the next one is coming up on Thursday this week. I haven't been back into Murn in a long time, but I remember they used to have dozens or hundreds on Unis.

In some areas that may be but here in Ohio you NEVER saw a picker with a sheller unit. And this is 40 mile away from where those New Ideas were built.

324 two row 38" rows with 329 Super Sheller Unit.

Parts are getting really scarce/impossible to find for these machines so find one in good shape what ever you do.

I can only work in my shed 3-4 hours per day, I just spent a month repairing my neighbors, same machine. I kept finding issues and had to rebuild many parts. Some I rebuilt, others I took to a machine shop.

The rear shield is not on the one pictured here, I am pretty sure is says "Super Sheller" right on it. I believe there was a model 314 sheller unit but it had less capacity. Paul

Here's the back shield I just took a picture of. Again, this is a model 329 Super Sheller. This is a great picker but remember it was designed when yields were much lower. We run in the lowest gear we can.

The picker in the background is also a 324/329 picker combination I bought to put in service but based on condition and my need to keep two other pickers like this running I decided to use it for parts.

Dunno if it's a SUPER sheller, but here's a pull-type picker/sheller for $600 in IL
