Autumn Leaves

Leaves are getting colourful here lately but the rain earlier and now high wind gusts are taking them down. I got out to take a few pictures today before they are gone. Of course I needed to take the Merc out for some exercise too :)

That car and the places you take photos of it go well together, (nice angle on this one). Just like spring, lime green leaves, then before you know it they have turned and fallen. With the 8 week drought, some of the trees are really stressed, but it's mostly green yet. That will change shortly with these cool dry nights and lower temperatures.

My first thought was, "Uh oh, I wonder if he got
stuck leaving". It seems like those old cars had A
LOT of weight in steel for those rear tires to push
around. It looks like a nice damp spot to stop!

Unless you used those bias ply cleats the Coop
sold. I don't recall a pickup on the farm without
those well into the 80's.

Speaking of bias ply cleats, that's one thing I missed when radial tires became the rage. I remembering running a set on the rear of an old truck with what I could get on the front and I'm thinking they were radials. Also think I remembering that I drove it very carefully.

Actually got some well used all season radials on the Merc. No problems getting around although it will spin the tires pretty easy in the snow.
