JD 840 BALE PROCESSOR

does anyone know about a JD 840 processor or have any experience with one. look very similar to Hesston or CaseIH bale processor. found one but no one has ever seen one before. looking for a low cost processor to feed lesser quality bif rounds

Same as Hesston. Don't push it with HIGH horsepower. It is not a commercial unit.

they feed out on oppisite sides, other than that the same? was only going to use on low quality hay for own cows , will 85 h.p run it?

Trying to remember, the tub tilts or you control rotation speed to aid in controlling feed rate, I think. You can probably stop 85 hp dead by over feeding but you can also have drive line problems depending on how you feed the hay.

I believe Deere quit selling because of problems with powerline or slip clutch.

I had one ten years ago. Used it for bedding with my 4020 and never had any problems. For corn stalks it made the bedding almost to fine but was great for moldy bales that would not come apart. Tom
