Post your splitting stand pictures...if you have them...

Have a post a few pages back about building a splitting stand. ChrisQ had a very nice one posted there. Was curious what people have used. If you have any pictures please post them.

I can't seem to upload a picture but for my Masseys I took the part of the loader frame that bolted underneath where the inspection hole is and put a trailer jack on each end. It works pretty well.

Alan I have two stands that work very well, I don't have any pictures to show you but you can come over and look or use one if you don't have time to build one now we don't live to far apart. Bob

I built two sets, one drilled for JD and one drilled for IH. Note the pin through the center brace, it is a critical component. Paul

I have one that came out of an old IHC dealership that closed up years ago. It's a big long heavy frame with 4 steel wheels on it.It has 2 sections of track it runs on,they clip together. Each section of track is about 8 feet long. The flanges that bolt to the bell or engine has an adjustment nut on it that you can crank each side up and down to get the right height. When I bought it,I was told it was an IHC factory stand, don't know if it's true or not.Was used mostly for splitting 1066's and such.I'll see if I can get a picture of it tomorrow.Looks kind of like this.

geez, those are nice pieces of equipment. Not being a smart aleck, but how often do you guys have to split a tractor? If I have to split mine (which is not likely), I'll probably weld something up on the spot, tack a couple of casters on each half and call it a day. Once job is done, recycle the stuff. But.... I only have 1 tractor and it's lightly used compared to what you guys put your stuff through.

Very nice. What did you use for the threaded rod on the wheels? I though about finding some old jack stands for a New Idea Uni system.

I use the adjustable feet from a set of scaffolding for the screws on mine. Their nice since i can adjust them by kicking the ends of the long nuts.

Got a couple different ones in my shop. Dad made one set with little rubber car tires on it. Works great and are very heavy. Large acme screw inside for adjustment. The set I made are very basic. Channel iron, 1" ready rod, 1 1/8" heavy pipe and some steel wheels. Both sets fit many makes and model of tractors. Built the one set more for the IHC but have had JD tractors on it. Have had large 86 series IHC and a 4040 JD on it. Both work great and are good design.
