Yep fan blade on upside down will cause less and slower air flow which in a fridge will cause all sorts of odd problems. Learned in a science class way back 40 or so years ago that fan blades on most fans are made to be on one way only of the air flow will be decreased a whole lot

Yep I agree with OLD. It has to do with the shape and curve of the blade. Need the concave side of the blade on the down stream direction. This is so it can cup the air and blow it. Think of the fan blade on your car.

Congratulations, Yep its pretty simple and NOT rocket science how fan blades operate. If you notice they are angled one way and if rotated a certain direction they blow one way and suck the other lol

Maybe not!!? I ran my car with out a fan for about two years once. But then I never had it in stop and go traffic either. lol

Shoot now days most cars have at least 2 fans in them and many have 3.

1 fan for the heater/AC
1 fan for the radiator and on many a 2nd fan for when you run the AC

Rotation was correct, but the blind side of the fan would not let it pull any air from the freezer chamber into the duct. 40 year old machine, I put it together wrong with the new motor.
