My 1070 fuel tank (diesel) is dirty and causing the filter to clog up quite frequently here recently. Question is has anybody clean them out without taking them off of tractor. Could I take line off at filter and flush tank with something?

Most tanks have a drain that is 3/4 to an inch, somewhere on the bottom. I have also sucked a lot of crud out of tanks by siphoning.

Ya my 2705 Massey has the tank behind the seat like the Case and it had crud in it I drained it by taking the valve out and then poured more in to flush it out, it didn't get all of it so I made a stem out of brake pipe about 6 to 8 inches tall and drilled small holes in it and crushed the top together, shoved it in the top of the valve tight like and reinstalled. Hasn't plugged yet!

got the same problem here ,. I keep a bicycle pump in the cab with me ,,started using algicide in the fuel tank ,, that helped ,other things that help is , sea foam ,lucas products , hydraulic fliuid atf ,and a 2 inch raised pipe in the tank and like you ,, one of these days I am puliin the tank to see what the hale is in the 2 inch raised line in the tank.. but nearly every tank full I have a problem .

That's Why I am Using Algicide , to insect parts and stringy cloth parts, and just plain ol dirt ,,. my guess is that the p-o , rode aroud with the fuel cap off and tuck a filthy rag in the cap hole .,./

Just bite the bullet and remove it, had a 1370 tank off last spring, you will never get it clean on the tractor.

i have cleaned several of these tanks both on and off the tractor. i can do as good a job with it on the tractor. e-85 gas will eat the crap so, i have a bucket that i drain the tank in and use a 12v sprayer pump with a brake line for a wand and i keep recirculating the gas using the wand to wash all areas of the tank. i change out the e-85 when it think its almost clean.
