We went to the Iowa State Fair last Wednesday and the Family was honored for the conservation work we implemented on our farm. Here is a picture --- (l to r) DNR Director - Chuck Gipp, Govoner Terry Branstad, Me, grandson Bryce Tellin, wife - Jeanine, granddaughter - Macey Tellin, daughter-in-law - Jennifer Tellin, son - Raymond Tellin, Lt. Govorner - Kim Reynolds and Secretary of Agriculture - Bill Northey. Hagie- the sp sprayer people fed us a BBQ dinner after the awards ceremony, it was good. Hot day at the fair.

Who is that in the green shirt who bombed your photo?? lol Congratulations. Thank you for implementing practices on your farm to enhance soil and water quality. As you know that is a big topic right now in Iowa. gobble

Hey Tee. That's is a great honor, Thumbs up for you and your family. Most people don't realize that farmers are "Stewards of the land" rather than evil gleaners of our most important resources, (dirt and water), which nurishes every lifeform on earth.

Thanks Loren---Thanks to all of you for the nice comments. A lot of the town people think we as farmers are raping the land and trying to poison them. I am not a radical tree hugger, but a am part of a farm family that cares for the land. Our son Ray took over the row crop portion of our land 3 years ago and is following the way the wife and I farmed it. The farm has been in the family for 115 years and I hope it stays in the family for another 115. We joke that I got out at the right time and he got in at about the worse!!---Tee
