winter front

We made a winter front for our B Allis. I don't know if I'll need the mower in the winter but with globle warming you never know.

I am not trying to be contentious, but with that adjustable front end, that looks to be a C, or a CA, not a B with the wishbone front axel.

We had a B just like the picture with adjustable front end and that mower, First tractor I learn on. Mowed a lot of fields with the mower. Took a little time to put it on or off the tractor. We grew cut flowers and raised beef cows back when I was a kid. Never needed a winter front as our farm was in Pinellas county Fl.

It used to be quite common around here to put a sack over part or all of the radiator. I quit doing it after a little accident we were blowing silage up with a d 17 and when we stopped to put gas in and driving away from the gas barrel a fan blade came out and this tractor was just running at full throttle. Thinking about this I realized what blocking part of the radiator did where the air went in the pressure pushed the blade in where the radiator was blocked there was no pressure the blade came out the blade was moving in and out making the blade weak and breaking it.

Later Bs had 5 bolt rear wheels, an update from the single large center axle bolt, and this one looks narrow enough to be a B. They also had an adjustable front axle as an option I believe.

The winter front is for show and I doubt that it will see much use. I have a cab tractor to plow snow with this one is for mowing and tractor rides
