Quite a weather event yesterday. Weather people are saying three to four tornados. Stretched from Allegan county clear up into Montcalm. One passed not far from rrlund. Faded out before they got to me in northern Montcalm. Weather radar summaries show three distinct stripes across the map. Probably F0 or F1 intensity. Tree & power line damage, some structural damage but could have been far worse. No reports of injuries.

I was out cutting hay, started to get rained on so parked tractor in the barn and quit for the day. Came in, turned on the Olympics, sat down in the recliner, woke a little later to weather radio and a three hour weather extravaganza. Don't fault TV station for preempting programming, especially since it was headed my way.

Any of you affected?

I just got an email from Royse. He said he had a little flooding, but no damage. Channel 17 said last night that it was an F1. Took a tree down on a farm house south of here. Fizzled before it got up to me. All we got was 1.3 inch of rain out of the whole deal,no wind to speak of. If I had been able to move faster,I wouldn't have made a fool of myself by heading out in a pouring rain to get the cellar door open, but I figured as slow as I'm moving,I'd better not take any chances.
Been tempted to head down and look at the damage where it hit,but those are all dirt roads down there and I don't want to have to wash my truck.

Finally got some well needed rain here in Mason county. 1st time sense June we have got a full inch of rain at one time. No wind damage, just repeated heavy bouts of rain. Strange thing was it would come down hard then clear up. I would decide to go move some round bales and as soon as the tractor was running another wave would hit.

Glad to hear everything is well up your way Ray.
As RRLund said, no damage here just a little flooding.
Weather station map shows an F1 passed between his place
and mine. About 12 miles apart. Luckily it missed us both.

We were coming home--Clare--from Montana and got hit in Grand Rapids--took cover in a gas station ----------------

I heard the warnings on the radio yesterday as I was helping my son move back to college. (Central Michigan University.)

I went through some heavy rain squalls, but the really bad weather was south and east of me.

That F1 crossed M44 and M66 both. They said that as rain wrapped as it was, somebody could have driven in to it without seeing it. Everybody lucked out on that one.

.I ran through three heavy down pours coming home from Oakley. Was down to about twenty five miles an hour in one of them. No sign of anything here

Storm tracked about about 10 miles west of our place. No damage here just load of needed rain. I had to dispatch the response team at the plant as it looked like the tornado was on a path right at it. Good thing I did, the storm did damage only one block away in Grand Rapids. No facility damage, just flooded shipping docks.

"That F1 crossed M44 and M66 both."

Yep. I'm about two miles from where they intersect.
I was in the shop working on a Farmall then had to put brakes
on all four wheels of a Buick. Rotors/pads/one new caliper.
That new caliper cost us another trip to the parts store.
I had to close the overhead doors to keep the rain out.
Still, no damage here and I'm thankful.
Luck favors the foolish I guess.
