want to put a 30,000 btu garage heater in,going to use a 100# tank, tank will be about 12' away from heater,do I need anything special as far as regulator or hose? thanks

If you are going to use the heater uch and depending on location 100# tank will be expensive and not last very long. I would get a 250 gal tank gas price will be cheaper and you wont be runnng out quick.

Hang the heater near the back wall, facing the overhead door/doors.
Place a 250 gal tank out side where afill truck can get to about 120 feet of it. Have a pro plumb it using black pipe.

Having the tank 12' from the heater isn't that important. The tank should be outdoors. Having a propane tank inside your house is a major fire hazard.

I used to use 2 100# tanks but got tired of hauling them back and forth to have filled,so last year I bought a 120 gallon tank and it was 535.00.Don't know what a 250 would be.When I plumbed it in I also hooked up the 100 LB tanks too for back up.

I bought a good used 300 gallon tank last year for $200. Has a good tag on it.
It is used as a backup for our wood heat in case I get hurt or sick and can't do the firewood.
Talk to some of the guys that work for the propane companies. They usually know where good tanks can be bought cheap.
I had to quit handling the 100 pound tanks as I am getting too old.
