New Holland Belt Thrower (Kicker) Speed Control

I have a NH 273 baler with a 54A thrower (kicker) - the belt type.
It has a mechanical crank speed control. From what I can tell, there is a crank, attached to a flexible shaft that, when turned, causes the pulleys to tighten and increase speed.
Mine looks as though the linkage has been cobbed together and the threaded shaft portion is froze up, so when the crank is turned, the flexible shaft just kinks...it looks as though there is some kind of tubing missing...not too sure.

Does anyone have a picture of this linkage they could post for me so I could see what it SHOULD look like...

Thanks in advance.

I can try to get a pic of the the crank on mine later today. It sounds like what you're describing...

The flex joint on mine is just a big rubber chunk.

I don't know if that is what they used at the factory, but most of the flex tubes I have seen are a piece of braided hyd. hose. Seem to work fine.
