Got back from 3 days in Duluth, Mn. I live about 250 miles south of there and have visited there perhaps a dozen times in my life. Took two of the Grand kids there to see it for the first time. When you come around that last curve on I-35 and see over the bluff it is breathtaking. Where I live it is flat corn fields for miles so that is like you traveled to a whole different world. The lake, the harbor, the ships, the docks and of course the lift bridge. The first day we got there we watched the largest ship that travels the great lakes come through the canel and under the lift bridge. I believe they said it was 1036 ft. long. They pushed him up to a dock and were loading it with grain. You could see the grain dust coming out of it about 4 hrs. after it came into the harbor and 2 days later they were still loading it. Don't know if they kept loading all night but it must hold a lot of bushels. The Grand-kids age 11 and 10 had the most fun chasing the waves in and out of the shore. Wind was pretty calm but waves still went in and out about 8 ft.
