Saying goodbye to a member

Big Marv (Real name Ron) has been a member of this forum for a lot of years. I just traded a couple of emails with him. He said his cancer took a turn for the worse about two weeks ago and he's on hospice care. He said he's about beyond having visitors and probably won't be of this earth for more than a few more days. I don't know if he's still reading YT or not. Just thought some of you would like to know and say goodbye.

God speed my friend. I hope to see you on the other side some day.

The good that we do with old friends while they are still with us is far better than all the flowers that you can send to a funeral...

Godspeed, Ron.

R thanks for posting... I have always wondered what happens here if one that no one close dies. How would all you guys know tomorrow if I passed. My wife never looks at my computer and I don,t think there is anyone on here that know me enough to ever post. Interesting group to say the least.. I have never met folks like you yet I feel like I know a lot about you with all your Oliver post and trips to Tennessee. I remember the name on here Big Marv.

In every way the life you blessed us with will be remembered. Thanks for being with us, and all your friends and relatives. Jim

rrlund,

Iev been looking around here picking up snippets of info here and there for many years....

Is there a "memorial" tab on this site for those that have contributed immeasurable wisdom (idiocy I've got covered)?

I'd like to propose that we, as YT visitors/members/aquaintenances/lurkers have an avenue to pay regards to those, respectfully, that have passed, and have passed on significant experiences.

D.

Yes,there is a Memorial Forum. On Classic, scroll down to the bottom after clicking "Another Forum".

rrlund,

I feel like I've gotten used to those that respond frequently, but I am humbled by my ignorance. It's a fine site that remembers those that have contributed an immeasurable much.

Very sad news--I met and bought a narrow front for my 770 from Ron and he was a VERY NICE MAN...

My thoughts and prayers are with Ron and his family during this time. My hope is he and his loved ones have peace at this time, and final thoughts and words can be shared.

Our thoughts are with Ron & his family & friends.
For you, rrlund, thanks for posting this, esp. in light of your own recent loss.

It's good to hear that Big Marv is still reading emails, so hopefully he still reads YT. This is still a site where REAL people (not computer generated) still converse with each other. Even in a hospice a smile and a kind word go much further than any Farmall A could travel. Best wishes Big Marv.

Thanks for posting Randy. A sobering thought to consider how we'll be thought of -- on the way out of this life. God bless Big Marv, and may he and his family be comforted.
