Need some help fixing a hydraulic leak please. I have a 966 and my leak is coming out of one of the tubes beneath the seat. The tube on the left in the picture is leaking around that cap. I've taken the tube off to see if there was an o ring in there or something, but not the case. I'm needing to sell this tractor and would like to have this taken care of before listing it. I also have some sort of leak coming off the steering wheel or just beneath it. Any details on that would be appreciated as well.

You will need to un-hook that lever to that spool valve and pull the entire tube up to the hyd valve.
pick up an o-ring kit and re-do it. same with the steering hand pump. You MIGHT grt away with a seal on the shaft, but it won't last long.
good luck.

You'll need items 9,14,17, 26, 27 and 28 minimum. Select 26, 27 and 28 for use with valves 529910R93 and 529911R93.
Installing 26, 27 and 28 in the actuator can be a little difficult the first time.
I use a small screw to run down into the old cup, o-ring and backup ring to remove them. Install the new backup, then the o-ring. Carefully press the cup into the actuator then finish setting it with a pin punch that just fits in the cup, I have one with the corners rounded off just for this purpose. When done there should be a substantial drag on the actuator piston, (item 8).

You'll need seal kit p/n 86585473 for the hand pump leak.
The seal can be replaced without removing the hand pump from the tractor. Done properly and with good cleanliness the new seal should last a long time.

Remove the steering wheel, pop off the dust seal, remove the snap ring, loosely install the steering wheel and turn it back and forth to force the seal and rings up out of their bore.

Clean it good and install the new parts in proper order. There should be an instruction sheet with the seal kit.

As Naden said is the ticket. The hand pump is pretty simple. I have done 2 of them. One had to have the other end done as it leaked also. The valve is easiest if you just take it right off the tractor. The lines and 3 bolts will get them both off. With the front pin holding it to the levers.
We remove the detent balls and eliminate that.

Thanks a bunch guys! I got emails that just said YT Forum and just now clicked what it was.... I'm definitely no mechanic, but once I get these parts, I'll give it a shot. Thanks again!

Where do I find a parts number list for these items you are directing me to? I found the other seal kit for the steering, but Yesterday's tractor parts doesn't show this breakdown or really anything for hydraulics except basic stuff. Thanks in advance.
