I made way too much of that job in my mind. I laid the flywheel on a block, hit the ring gear with the air chisel in one spot, hit it at 180 degrees, came back to the first spot and hit it again.I don't think it took more than three seconds for it to drop right off.
I laid the new one on,ran the torch around it twice real slow and it started to drop on,but crooked. I took a small ball peened hammer and tapped the high spot, then went all the way around once and that was all there was to it. I put a pair of welding gloves on,stood it up and rolled it around to make sure it was all the way on. I came in and ate supper while it cooled then went back out and put the flywheel on.
Nothing to it.
