What happened to insects?

Normally I would have big juice all over front of truck. Is pest control different because of zika? Where are the insects?

They must all be a little Southeast of you. Rode the four wheeler to feed last night and I was pelted with them.

Japanese beetles are thick in southwest mo.i can arrange to insure your not insectless, want a few semi loads?

Front of my car is loaded with them ! Really pick up a lot when I drive to work through the Funk Bottom flats on ST RT 95 Ohio.

Ants are worse than I've ever seen. They are everywhere. In the ground all around the shop, getting in equipment, house, etc.

I have noticed as the turkey population has increased the ground living insects have decreased dramatically. Have watched a flock spread out in a line and sweep across a hay field picking off insects by the bunches. As far as flying insects, this year, i'm blaming it on a very cold and open winter, and a dry summer. Now if someone wants to explain the huge increase in woodchucks (ground hogs, whistle pigs) or gophers (13 lined ground squirrels), I would entertain any reasonable explanations. Have gotten 5 woodchucks and 20 gophers already this summer.

A mockingbird has a nest just outside the back door.
Last evening I was sitting on the swing, listening to my radio and drinking a cool one.
About every ten minutes she would return with an insect for the little ones and fly off again.

We have plenty. The skeeters are the worst in a few years. Earlier the flies were really bad but they have let up some. Ticks are still bad. Count yourself lucky.

Same here with the little black ants. They attcked our early germinating plants in the garden and mostly did them in. Been spraying heavily around the perimiter of the house and shop all summer

I would still like to know why I've been so lucky, very few even in the spring when they are very bad.

They are just as bad if not worse here. I can't even walk in the woods its so bad. Then this year we had the cicadas. Hitting them going down the road was scary at times. Thank goodness they only lasted a month.
