A unique tractor was at Pioneer days at my hometown, never seen anything like it. The cooling system is built just like the boiler of a steam engine, and the exhaust creates the draft. Sounded like a Waterloo Boy, ran great! Very grateful to the owner for having it there, usually just some JD's and Farmall's. Last year he brought a Rumely gas-pull.

Mfg by Townsend Manufacturing Co of Janesville, Wisc. Later on sold as the Townsend Oil Tractor. Nebraska tractor test #63 (Sept 23, 1920). "Kerosene was used for fuel throughout the test".

"Roy C. Townsend worked for Fairbanks Morse & Co. before he went off on his own in 1914. His first tractors were called Bower City tractors, and appear to be identical to Townsend tractors. Bower City tractors were manufactured starting in 1915 in 10-20 and 12-25 sizes".

IIRC the lower number was drawbar HP and the higher number Belt pulley HP. That's how you used to know what size a model was.
