Pull Starting John Deere 2010

Ag tractor with NO reverser, no reason why not.

I am NOT familiar with the industrial versions, tho.

Wouldn't that be like the bigger 3010 4010 tractors where you will gall up a certain transmission shaft if you try to pull it in anything other than "tow", or are those totally different from the bigger ones?? I know you aren't really supposed to pull a 3010 very far at all if not in tow position, but I have never looked at a 2010. Tim S would know for sure...

NO issue with pull STARTING any of those tractors because the transmission oil pump will be turning along with the engine.

What kills those trannies is dead-towing them WITHOUT the engine and tranny topshaft turning, which means the transmission oil pump isn't turning, either, lubing the upper parts of the tranny that aren't running in oil. NOT good!

Ah yes Bob, didn't think about the fact that the tranny pump would be turning if you were rolling the engine. Duh.

Please explain where a trans pump is located on a JD 2010. I find no other hyd pump in parts diagrams than the main hyd pump and can't envision how it can lubricate the trans. No apparent trans failures have happened that I aware of when tractor has been operated with hyd pump drive disengaged.
Thanks,Jim
