So my distributor has two bushings that press in from either end to distributor housing. Searched online and came up with a couple places to get bushings and shims.BUT the bushings are like 2 inches plus. Mine are 3/4 to 1". I am assuming that this kit will work but i would need to Cut bushings to fit proper length??

Are the parts for the correct brand distributor?

While chasing an ignition problem on an old AC, I decided to re-bush the Delco Remy dist. Parts showed one bushing. It's quite long. So any oil you put in through the little plugged hole in the side of the dist. has to work its way through the bushing.

that was my concern my two bushings are 7/8 in length both are the same by all accounts EXCEPT one has two oil holes in it...it came out the top side of dist. I havent seen any kits with two bushings.. most are the one long one..another thing is I couldnt use the long one because the distributor housing has stops where each bushing should be pushed to and no further..

Yes, cut them to length. Be careful holding on to them, real easy to crush.

Don't be surprised if they have to be reamed once installed. They are very close tolerance, only .002-.003 clearance.

This suggestion is if you use a sintered bronze bushing (oil impregnated powdered bronze). If you do anything to the I.D. make sure you do it right. If I remember correctly, you want to use a sharp reamer. If you use a drill bit or something else you might smear the I.D. and plug the oil passages, that are nothing more than voids in the part. If the bushing is solid brass, ignore this message. I am sure there is information out there, probably on the Oilite website as they are a long time supplier of this type of product.
