Exhaust Muffler

Hello Folks; Exhaust muffler snapped off today but I would like to continue using the machine (International 2400 Tractor used primarily to drag a brush/tall grass cutter). Would there be any problems other than some extra noise? Thanks in advance!
 
most old tractors didnot have muffler

f 12 f 20 wd i have run those 100 s of hours without never hurt them. now i can not hear anything.
also gets a good sun burn on a warn day in spring plowing
 
Gas or diesel and if diesel is it turbo charged?? If gas I would not worry about it but if turbo charged I would not run it with out a pipe or some sort
 
Thanks old and Cylde. Always learning on this site! It is gas. I will use sunblock and ear plugs.
 
I never realized mufflers/smoke stacks were an option on old Farmalls until I got older. That little two inch staub of pipe sticking out of the hood would make your ears ring pretty quick.
 
Mufflers can be purchased from most automotive parts stores or your local Tractor Supply. Heck even the website that hosts this forum probably can sell you a muffler.
