Randy, I have removed the fuel tank from my 1955 several times without tilting the cab. All of the sealing gaskets have to go and it's a real booger, but I can do it. However this is with the od Farmers Cab, not the newer roll over safe cabs. I'd at lest try to jigger that thing out before giving up and tilting the cab. Oh yeah, there's plenty of room on my wall for two of us banging our heads together side by side.

The dump truck conked out yesterday (yeah, the one we truck TMR with). Haven't got that running yet. The 1955 is running hot. Hosed out the radiator, replaced the fan belts, removed the thermostat, still running hot. Water pump seems okay. Guess a radiator flush is next. It is the original radiator. Hope I don't have to spring for a core. Still haven't changed the clutch in the 1850. Been getting by for light duty. Kind of like the good old days when I'd go over the bars of my dirt bike into a mud hole and while wrestling the bike outta the mud, I'd turn to my kids and say, "ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?????

I like my older equipment but it can make life more interesting at times. LOL It seems like things around here happen in groups. Either everything is working great or everything is broke at once. LOL the broke happens more often!!!!

In the past month I've boiled over two tractors out of nowhere. In my cases though, both had clogged cooling fins on the radiator cores. They were clean when I started and I wasn't even thinking while kicking up all of that dust, but all of a sudden boil overs. Shut them down and opened them up, the radiators covered and coated over by dirt and debris like blankets sucked in by the fans. Cleaned them off and out and ran perfectly. Its been a dry, dusty year so far.

Thermostats are to cool the engines down, but having one out shouldn't cause a quick overheat. Given what you've done, I too would try a radiator flush. Its much easier and not bad for the cooling system. Do the easiest most common and likely causes first. Good...luck.

It sure seems that way JD.

Jeff said today that the first two years since he started farming has gone incredibly well. He said I just knew things would get back to normal sooner or later. Seems that "normal" has finally caught up with us. Lol!
