A lot of the old Blue Grass fellows have been passing,Alvin Breeden another Blue Grass player from VA died awhile back.His band was the Virginia Cut Ups.

Broke my heart to see this last night, saw him in Atlanta about 25 years ago, really brought me back to my roots and rekindled my
love of mountain bluegrass, could sit and listen to him and Alison Krauss all day, Rest in Peace Dr.

Wow , That's sad. Saw him in a small club . His bus took up the whole parking lot . He was a class act.

Have to admit I'd never heard of him til the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou" really got me interested in bluegrass music. I've got the DVD "Down From the Mountain" which includes him singing Angel Band with the whole cast and it is excellent. Here is a reasonable facsimile of it on youtube.
