Super H transmission cover.

Hey there guys. I am currently pulling a Super H that is on the bubble for making the 3500lbs class. I have read in the old posts about trimming the transmission cover. When they are talking about trimming the trans cover where abouts are they referring? Removing the overhang on the sides or milling down the whole top?
Thanks in Advance

I have seen an H that was trimmed down to that weight. The axle housing and the top plate had been ground on. All of the sharp edges were ground off. It had a melted look. I have also heard of grinding the insides of the transmission and differential cases to reduce weight. That would be a lot of work.
