Maybe just maybe in a few days but not today or even tomorrow. Drier then a bone or a pop corn fart here and I have been having to water the garden every few days. Will be baling hay both today and tomorrow. There saying tomorrow will be the hottest for this year so far

Making hay on the hottest day of the year-- hope you don't have to exert yourself too much. Hearkens back memories of my young years and how HOT it was up in the mow stacking bales off the elevator. What I miss most is the SMELL of the hay- and the good feeling when the mow was full with hay that didn't get rained on.

Just a little south of where old is, and we have not had any rain aside from settling the dust a couple times. Watering things as well. South just a bit there was some nice rain, and it seems very hit and miss. Had someone bale my hay this weekend, and it was a constant dust cloud behind the rake and baler, and while I have not counted the bales yet, it looks like about 1/3rd less, or more compared to last year crop.

Take it easy Rich. You know the heat coming this week is nothing to play with. I think they said Thursday would be the hottest here topping out around 100 degrees.

Ya I spent almost the whole day out side today in the hay field raking baling and then trying to make a NH1003 bale wagon to work which by around 6pm I got working. Came home and sat down after chore and grabbed a beer

Spent most of the day on a tractor till we hooked up the NH1003 bale wagon and then it was my time to figure out how a machine I have never used worked. Soon found out it had a few problems so spent a couple hours finding all the bugs and fixing them. Bad part if the guy who owns it has misplaced the manual so I had to do it all by figuring out how thing did what but by 6PM figured it out and had it working. But I did have lots to drink so other then a long hot day all in all not bad but it sure as heck is now beer thirty

Well we did have a 6 inch rain today while I was baling hay. We had 6 inches between drops for maybe 10 minutes or so. All in all just a long hot day

They are predicting up to 5 inches tonight for eastern Iowa, beautiful right now, but can see it building in the distance.
